Acceptable Worship
We should all be concerned with what is acceptable worship. We know from the Old Testament that God was particular about how He was worshiped. Leviticus 10:1-2 tells us about two priest, sons of Aaron, who disregarded the instruction of God on what fire to bring into the temple. And they died for that mistake. In 1 Samuel 6:19, God killed 50,070 people because thay looked into the Ark and in 2 Samuel 6:6-7 a priest named Uzzah put his hand on the Ark to steady it because they were moving it on a new cart and it shook causing Uzzah to be concerned that it would fall. His intentions were good, but he trespassed against God by participating in moving the Ark incorrectly and then by touching it. And it cost him his life.
In the New Testament we are told to worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). And we are told that our reasonable service to God is to present our bodies as a living sacrifice. How we worship God matters, check out the article for more information.
